Godfrey Tree Service trucks and workers have been busy over the past several days from picking up water in Rome to bring back to Chattooga County, to cutting downed trees for flood victims.

Kevin Godfrey told Atlanta news media, “We just try to give back to the county every time we can. Generally we go out of town and do this, but it’s a little different when it’s at home,” Godfrey said. “None of the stores have water either so all the water was bought out we had to go into town to bring it in.”

Godfrey has partnered with the Red Cross and the NAACP in Rome to bring water being donated in Floyd County to Chattooga County.

Godfrey and his family set up a tent near the Burger Shack in Summerville to pass out water to area residents affected by the flooding.
