The Chattooga County Board of Elections and Registrations has announced that due to extremely low voter turnout in the recent Primary Elections for the Georgia Public Service Commission, the Democratic Special Primary Runoff on July 15, 2025, will utilize a single polling location.

This decision is based on Georgia law (OCGA 21-2-270), which stipulates that when less than 1% of registered voters participate in an election, “only one polling place shall be required to be open in the county at the run-off primary; and such polling place shall be the polling place for the precinct wherein the county courthouse is located.” Therefore, all Election Day voting for the Democratic runoff for Public Service Commission will take place at the Chattooga County Civic Center, located at 44 Highway 48 in Summerville. Voters are urged to take note of this change.
