If you have received a mailer claiming that you can get up to $35,000 for funeral expenses, Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader is urging you to throw the mailer in the trash and not respond.
The sheriff said earlier this week that the mailer is “obviously a scam”. The mailer appears to be an official State of Georgia government form, but the “T-2” form is not part of the state’s database and appears to be made-up to dupe unsuspecting residents. The mailer does include a small disclaimer that says, “not affiliated with any state or government agency.”
According to the Better Business Bureau, “Direct Mail Processing LLC” – the company that mailed out the form, has received numerous complaints.
Direct Mail Processing LLC (DMP) maintains that they are a third-party and simply contract with businesses to mail and process solicitations. The Kennesaw based company posted the following in response to BBB complaints:
“DMP is a company that provides mail services to commercial entities that market products and services to the public. DMP acts as the intermediary between marketing companies and mail houses that send and receive consumer mailers. We do not sell or endorse the products or services referenced in the mailers.”
Sheriff Schrader is telling Chattooga County residents to disregard the mailer and not to respond. Scammers often use forms like this to get personal information from people and then use that information to perpetrate fraud.

I live in Tennessee and received one of these cards in the mail today. The only exception is it says for TN residents only. This is a scam and it needs busting up!!!
DMP should not provide the service at all to client as such. If they are aware of these actions and continue to support, it looks like they are assisting the crime. On December 17, 2019, I received one from Direct Mail Processing, LLC P..O. Box 100080 Kennesaw, GA 30156-9912
Accessary to a Scam. The Client pays DMP, by check, card or cash. Records are there. Why not cancel the service for fraudulent charges and activity. Ripping off seniors. So sad.
You know there doing it bust them this is worse than a drug dealer to me. At least the drug dealers give you something. Lol. But for real get them when they pick up the mail. Put them in for 20 years.
I live in grovetown Georgia. today October 15th 2019 I received a distribution processing center Mahler from PO box 689 Marietta Georgia 30061 – 9901 inside was a forum the says new 2020 benefit information for Georgia residents and it has to do with the paying of 100% of your funeral and final expenses up to 35,000 dollars. This payment is tax free for Georgia residents you are entitled to receive no cost information as a resident of Georgia and then it asked us to fill in and return the postage-paid card within 5 days. I googled it and this is what I found that it was a scam.
I live in spoka wa and I just got one good thing I check it out thank u who ever made this article

I totally agree with you. DMP are just as much to blame as these scammers. Shut all involved in this down
I live in philadelphia pa and got one of these T-2 mailers. Its targeted for pa residents. Looks very official. This is going to be a problem.
Got the same “T-2” form here in Green Mountain Falls, CO, says it’s for Colorado Residents only.
What’s funny it was sent to my PO Box here, but it says in the form they can’t send stuff to PO Boxes…
They made it look legitimate but had enough errors like that to make people scratch their heads.
My friend received one in the mail yesterday in PA.
I will be throwing it away the minute I get to the mailbox today. Calling out of texas.
We have received several of these, one being today. We live in Iowa and the note says, “as a resident of IA” entitled to benefits not provided by government. access to a 2020 regulated life insurance program which may pay 100% of all final expenses up to $35K. The return envelope is addressed to Direct Mail Processing, LLC, P.O. Box 100080., Kennesaw GA. 30156-9912. We know these are scams but wanted to report it
Thanks for posting this warning. I get these and other similar “offers”. I’m glad I decided to research it.
I am disabled and really appreciate the information that is posted to warn people. I am on disability and I would have loved to be able to get my funeral paid for as reasonable as I could. It’s like they knew my situation, not much longer to live.
I got one for my dad who has been dead for almost 5 years. im going to fill it out with BS info and send it back!
These are circulating in Texas as well. I wish the Post Office would not participate in this by mailing these scam mail it should be a Federal Offense.
I received one of these letters but I looked it up before I said anything back that was a smart move I see that now is a scam so just remember all of you out there just take the address Google it and follow up where it’s coming from
Company called North American Senior Benefits is behind these mailers.

Just recieved this in todays mail! I live close to olympia,wa.
My 78 year old mother just received one here in Michigan today! Total scam.
Thank you for this article.
Here’s a great way to stop it. Fill out the information, only use cartoon character’s names and make up a phoney address and mail it back. This way they have to pay the post office for the postage and get no info in return.
This scam is going on in Texas too. Just chased a guy away from my front door around noon today demanding to speak with my mother, who had filled out this card without being skeptical enough. This is actually the second visit, the first guy was an older man, this one younger. Both were devoid of information about funeral expenses and unwilling to leave information for my mother. These were not scheduled appointments., they just invited themselves to my home holding pink “documents.” Additionally, in this age of Covid, it seems disgustingly predatory and has prompted me to put up a rather angry sign on my front door warning them and any other leech to get the hell off of my property. The guy today even had the nerve to open my storm door and knock, (I have a doorbell) rubbing his potentially Covid- covered body on my property and that was duly pointed out to him, at which time he made a very quick exit in his newish blue Beamer. It does make me wonder, why the open storm door? So the elderly woman he thought he was going to be speaking to could be physically forced to let him inside? This will be reported to my police department and also to the FBI. Yes, I am livid. I can’t stand actions like that, and especially to my elderly Mom! The card is identical to the one on another site that posted about this in 2017 and the words are exact with the exception of the state, mine being Texas. You know what they say… “Don’t mess with Texas.” Vampires, all of them. Yes, my door was disinfected well to those who wonder. The next one dumb enough to attempt this will be entertained at the front door while the police arrive behind them.
Since they are using USPS to mail these scams, why can’t they be prosecuted for mail fraud?
My husband received one and the form was stating he had days to mail it back. We ripped it up and tossed it.
I received this mailer today. I agree that DMP, LLC should be held accountable at the very least for the commiseration of fraudulent activity. Once they discovered the purpose behind the mailers they should have stopped all dealings with this “company” and reported them. Instead, they chose to continue their dealings with them, allowing them to continue ripping off consumers.
I got one today. It looks like tax form. We live in TN. Thank you for the warning.
I received this scam in the mail today with the PO Box 100080 address. My first name was completely incorrect. My mailing address is in West Virginia.
I got one today..Im in NC
What should a person do if they’re stupid enough to have sent this thing back with identifying info?
Got the same envelope today, November 9, 2020! Can someone stop those scammers! I did google the info about this LLC and found that those people still busy sending these forms to elderly people, who are so vulnerable! Stop ✋ the Scam!
I received this letter a few days ago. It says “for Minnesota citizens only” I had a timeline of Jan. 12th 2021 to respond. It wants my name, address, and phone number. It has a scanning number also.
They are sending this bs to state of texas residents now. I just got it in the mail thanks for the warning.
