The City of Summerville has announced a Special Called Meeting scheduled for today, November 20th, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The main focus of tonight’s meeting will be decisions regarding the city’s 2026 employee health insurance coverage. Council members are expected to consider approval of the GMEBS Life and Health Program as the city’s insurance provider for the upcoming year. The agenda calls for discussion followed by a vote.
The council will also conduct the first reading of the GMEBS Life and Health Program Ordinance, which outlines the city’s participation requirements. Like the previous item, this will include time for discussion and action.
Another key item on tonight’s agenda is authorization for the mayor to sign the official Participation Declaration and Application for employee health, dental, and vision benefits under the GMEBS program.
The meeting will also include mayoral comments, the introduction of guests or visitors, and a public comment period before adjournment.
