A Summerville man was arrested on July 11th following a domestic dispute where he allegedly assaulted a woman on Scoggins Street. Anthony Dozier was taken into custody after the complainant reported he slammed her to the ground during an argument.
According to a report from the Summerville Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Scoggins Street area in response to the dispute. Upon arrival, the responding officer spoke with the complainant, who stated that Dozier had physically assaulted her.
The victim explained to police that she had gone to Mr. Dozier’s apartment to deliver his medication. Upon her arrival, she said Dozier accused her of attempting to sell speakers located in the back of her vehicle. The situation escalated when Mr. Dozier allegedly began pulling items out of the vehicle, attempting to remove the speakers.
When the victim tried to prevent him from taking the speakers, she reported that he pushed her. She then stated that upon her second attempt to stop him, he allegedly grabbed her by the head and slammed her to the ground. The responding officer observed injuries consistent with the victim’s account, noting an injury behind her left ear and on her right elbow. The victim also clarified that the speakers in question belonged to both her and Mr. Dozier.
Following the investigation and observation of the victim’s injuries, Anthony Dozier was placed into custody. He was subsequently transported to the Chattooga County Jail.
