The Georgia State Patrol released a preliminary report on an accident that happened on Highway 27 in the Gore area of Chattooga County on Tuesday:

A Cadillac ATS was traveling north on Georgia 1 in the outside travel lane.  The driver, Mary Henderson said she looked off the roadway at her purse and traveled off the paved surface.  Roadway evidence showed that the Cadillac struck a guardrail with its passenger side before Ms. Henderson overcorrected and traveled across all northbound lanes, then through a grass median and the southbound lanes, leaving the roadway again.  After the Cadillac exited the roadway, it traveled through a ditch, then up an embankment, striking several trees before turning onto its side and wedging itself between several trees, coming to a final uncontrolled rest on its passenger side.

Trooper Chris Harris told WZQZ News that the driver had only minor injuries and was transported to a Rome hospital. A complete report will be released after it is completed by the Georgia State Patrol.
