A Summerville woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon following reports of a disturbance and physical altercation on Church Street. Katelyn Laree Martin, 31, of Bittings Avenue, faces charges of disorderly conduct after police responded to the scene.

According to information released by the Summerville Police Department, officers were dispatched to Church Street after receiving calls regarding a woman causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, police encountered Martin, who allegedly “acted in a violent and tumultuous manner” with residents at the location.

Investigators stated that Martin was reportedly yelling and attempting to instigate a fight with one individual, and had also used physical force against another victim present.

Martin was subsequently taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct. She was transported to the Chattooga County Jail, where she was booked.
