The local Summerville-Trion Wal-Mart has suffered from a string of shoplifters lately, according to reports from the Chattooga County Sheriffs Office.
Over the past week the local Wal-Mart has contacted the Sheriffs Office in need of assistance with several shoplifters.

On Thursday October 28th Deputies arrived at Wal-Mart at the request of the APA. The APA explained that the suspect Eden Schock had been observed to “skip scan” several items. The self checkout host had attempted to help Schock with her purchases but after the associate had walked away, Schock went on to “skip scan” several more items. The suspect then proceeded to walk past all points of sale with the non paid for items. At this point she was stopped where it was discovered she had 13 items totaling over $102.

Deputies were called back to Wal-Mart on Saturday October 30th in regards to another shoplifter. The AP manager showed the Deputies the video of the suspect, Wendy Hoglund “skip scanning” 5 items that totaled $48.46.

Both suspects were placed under arrest for Theft by Shoplifting and transported to the Chattooga County Jail without further incident.
