Berry College plans on breaking ground next week on two new residence halls at a cost of $29 million. The buildings will be located near the entrance to the Viking Trail on the main campus and students are slated to begin moving in beginning in fall of 2009. Both buildings will be three stories and will house a total of 345 sophomores and juniors. Berry officials are also planning a new student activities center that will be located in the soon-to-be renovated Emery Barns complex. Funding for the projects is being provided through bonds issued through the Development Authority of Floyd County.
