Man Blames GPS For Being Stuck in a Field

On Tuesday of this week the Chattooga County Sheriff's Department received a call about a vehicle stuck on private property.

When the deputy arrived at the property near the intersection of Oak Hill Road and Owens Dairy Road, he spoke with the driver of the vehicle, identified at Larry Ballew of Gaylesville, Alabama, who said that he was on his way to work and was using his GPS.

Ballew said that his GPS told him to turn left, and he did – into the field where he got stuck.

The owner of the property, Dale Housch of Summerville, helped Mr. Ballew by pulling him out of the field.

Mr. Housch said that he wanted a report filed about the incident.

There was no mention of any damage in the report filed by the Chattooga County Sheriff's Department.
