Chattooga County Young Farmers are inviting everyone to the 2019 Pig Project Show & Auction today at the Chattooga County Agricultural Center. Twelve Chattooga County FFA and 4H Students will be showing their swine that they have raised and then they will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. The Pig Show and Auction is the culmination of a summer of hard work for these students who have raised their pigs. A preview-show was held during the 2019 Chattooga County Agricultural Fair in August. The auction will be a traditional auction and will take place following the show which begins at 3 PM.
Auctioned pigs will be delivered to Skillet Hollow Processing in Flinstone, Georgia for processing. The processing fees will be the responsibility of the buyers. Chattooga County Young Farmer Advisor Lauren Jarrett told WZQZ News, “The proceeds will go to the students who purchased and raised the pigs and the buyers will get to stock their freezer with homegrown pork.”
Students participating in this year’s project include: Addie Bridges, Lane Bridges, Cody Corbin, Chayse Culbert, Michael Dooley, Shelby Nutter and Tanner Nutter.
WZQZ FM 99.1 & AM 1180 is proud to be one of the sponsor’s of the 2019 Pig Project Show & Auction.
