Georgia Constructing Quarantine Space At GPS Training Center

Governor Kemp, Kathleen E. Toomey, M.D., M.P.H., Georgia Department of Public Health(DPH) commissioner, and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) announced that a quarantine space for persons identified by DPH who are unable to self-quarantine at home is under construction on the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC) campus in Monroe County. Georgia’s Presidential Primary Postponed Until May

Georgia became the second state in the nation to postpone the Presidential Preference Primary.  The election was scheduled for March 24, 2020 and early voting was already underway.  Voters in Georgia will now be able to vote in the Presidential Preference Primary at the same time they vote in the local General Election Primary in May.  The Chattooga County Registrar Office released the following information on Saturday night:

Alabama Now Has Six Coronavirus Cases

Alabama now has six confirmed cases of coronavirus. The first case was reported in Montgomery County. The second is a person in Jefferson County.

Friday night, the Alabama Department of Health updated its website to say there are now six confirmed cases in the state. Five of the cases are from in-state and one other is from out of town. The locations are:

  • Elmore County – 1 case
  • Jefferson County – 1 case
  • Limestone County – 1 case
  • Montgomery County – 1 case
  • Tuscaloosa County – 1 case
  • Out of Town – 1 case
