A Rome man remained in jail Monday without bond after being accused of beating a 73-year-old disabled man.

Carmen Jermaine Sumlin, age 30, was arrested at 3:30am at his home after he reportedly beat a 73-year-old man with his fist.

Sumlin is charged with felony aggravated battery and the exploitation and intimidation of disabled persons or elder adults.
