Just after noon on Tuesday a child fell approximately 20 feet off one of the trails inside Rock City Gardens in Georgia, according to the Lookout Mountain Police Department and a statement from Rock City Gardens.

The 4-year-old boy, who was visiting the park with his family, was found conscious and alert, sitting with his father, when Rock City-certified first responders arrived at the scene. Emergency personnel from Lookout Mountain, Ga., Walker County, and Lookout Mountain, Tenn., were also notified. The child sustained minor injuries, which were assessed on site, and was transported by Walker County Emergency Services to TC Thompson Children’s Hos-pital in Chattanooga around 12:30 p.m.

According to Karen Baker, marketing director for Rock City Gardens, the boy’s family contacted Rock City man-agement around 3 p.m. Tuesday to report that he was being released from the hospital.

The child’s name and family have not been released, and neither the Lookout Mountain police department nor Rock City management are aware of what exactly caused the young boy to fall.
