Mrs. Joyce Darden Knox age 78 of Summerville, GA passed away Tuesday- August 11, 2021 at Oakview Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Knox was born June 22, 1943 to the late Ellis Sr. and Celester Geter Darden. She was a member of AME Zion- Lawrence Temple and enjoyed sewing, gardening, and planting flowers.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Knox; and siblings Sid Darden, Ellis Darden, Jr., Joe Darden, Annie Stewart, Maddie Shropshire, and Helen Darden.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Melvin Knox; son, Kevin Young; sister, Enis Campbell; 4 grandchildren, 1 great- grandchild; and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Knox will be held at 1:00 Tuesday- August 17, 2021 at the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Bishop V.T. Harden and other ministers officiating.

Mrs. Knox will lie in state and the family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 – 1:00 at the funeral home.

In accordance with Mrs. Knox’s wishes she will be cremated following the service.
