
Chattooga County Tax Commissioner Joy Hampton says that her office will be closed to the public on Wednesday morning.
According to a statement released to WZQZ news on Tuesday evening, Hampton said that her office has experienced additional possible Covid 19 exposures and both the office and the lobby will be disinfected Wednesday morning while she and her staff await test results and staff availiblility. Hampton said that her office is very short-staffed and she appreciates the public’s patience during this trying time.
Tax Commissioner Hampton stated, “I am blessed to have a team that wants to come to work and loves to serve our citizens. I must ensure safety and health for my team as much as possible so that we can remain available, while also trying to maintain safety for the citizens we serve and love.”
Hampton said that she hopes to have the office and lobby open by 12:30 pm on Wednesday and her office will post any changes on the the Chattooga County Tax Commissioner’s Facebook page.
