WZQZ presents back to back nights of GHSA high school football playoff action starting tonight with Chattooga vs Haralson County!

Last week the Chattooga Indians secured the 4th and final playoff spot in Region 7AA and tonight the Tribe will make the 1 hour and 20 minute drive south to Tallapoosa, GA to take on the Region 5AA Champion Haralson County Rebels.

The Rebels are 9-1 (4-0) on the season and ranked #6 in the state according to the AJC.  Haralson County’s only loss this season came back in week 2 against Class A power Manchester.  Since that time the Rebels have reeled off 8 straight wins.  Haralson County’s average margin of victory over the past 8 games is 26 points.

Chattooga enters tonight’s contest 5-4 (4-2) and unranked.  The Indians will be looking to pull the upset as an underdog on the road tonight.  The winner of the Chattooga vs Haralson County game will advance to play the winner of the Cook vs Northeast game being played at Northeast.

The Trion Bulldogs will have tonight off and will square off with the Social Circle Redskins tomorrow night in Trion at Sam R. McCain Stadium.  The GHSA moved all class A playoff games to Saturday due to a shortage of officials.  WZQZ will be broadcasting the Trion game both on the radio and via a live video stream on the WZQZ Facebook page.
