Guy Bruce Jr., 92, of LaFayette, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 26, 2022. He passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He attended Fairview South Baptist Church. Mr. Bruce was a Korean War veteran who served in the Army Medical Corp. as a sergeant. He was a retired civil engineer with the Georgia State Highway Department. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Louise Palmer Bruce; and brothers, Roy, Ruel, and Ray Bruce.

He is survived by his children, Kay (Fentress) Horner and Kyle (Cindy) Bruce all of LaFayette, Ken (Alisa) Bruce of Summerville, and Kerrie (Mike) Draper of Nashville; grandchildren, Daniel (Stacie) Horner and Peter Horner; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 30, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastors Lowell Cantrell and Tony Jackson officiating.

Interment in the Fairview South Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Terrell Scoggins, Danny Keith, Dennis Brown, Lance Stowe, Daniel Horner, and Peter Horner.

Honorary pallbearers are Roger Avans, Hon. Billy Mullinax, Farrell Brown, Charley Gilbreath, Jim Thornton, Mike Draper, Fentress Horner, and Hon. Jeff Mullis.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
