Mrs. Shelby Jean Ward, age 85, of Summerville, GA, died Thursday, July 7, 2022, at her residence.

Mrs. Ward was born March 25, 1937, in Summerville, GA, daughter of the late Elgin Elbert Keen and Bertie Mae Simmons Keen.  She was a member of Beersheba Presbyterian Church, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Mohawk Industries.  She loved gardening, working in her flowers, and canning. She was also a devoted mother and grandmother, and loved her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Minnie Locklear Almond and Ruby Jo Shamblin; brother, Elbert Alan Keen.

Survivors include her husband, Paul M. Ward, Jr.; son, Mike (Lacey) Ward; daughter, Paula (Roger) Bryant; brother, David C. (Marlene) Keen; sisters, Evelyn Willingham, Mary Floyd; special cousin, Maybell Broyles; grandchildren, Phillip G. Bryant, Justin Ward, Misty Fulton, and Dusty Ward; great-grandchildren, Skyler Ward, Connor Ward, Gage Fulton, and Alyssa Fulton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Beersheba Presbyterian Church.  Interment will follow in Garrett Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Mike Ward, Justin Ward, Phillip Bryant, Roger Bryant, Skyler Ward, and Connor Ward.

Mrs. Ward will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Saturday.  She will also be in state at Beersheba Presbyterian Church from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Sunday.
