Week 5 of the 2022 high school football season is upon us and region play starts tonight. One of our local schools will be in action tonight and one team has a bye week.
The Chattooga Indians have some momentum on their side after notching their first victory of the season last week on the road at Murray County. The 28-7 victory last week moved the Indians to 1-3 on the season. Chattooga will start their region slate tonight at home against the 2-2 Pepperell Dragons. Pepperell is coming off a 35-28 loss on the road last week to Temple, the same team that defeated Chattooga earlier this year 44-19.
Meanwhile the Trion Bulldogs have the week off this week to work out the kinks from their first loss of the season last week to Model. Trion will rest tonight and play their first region game next week at home against Dade County.
Paul Cavin and Barry Peppers will call the action tonight for WZQZ in the Chattooga vs Pepperell game. The game will also be video streamed live on the WZQZ Facebook page. The pregame show will begin at 7pm with kickoff to follow at 7:30pm.
