Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry will be holding a meeting tomorrow morning at 10 AM at his office to adopt the 2024 Chattooga County Budget.  A copy of the budget was posted at the courthouse, the courthouse annex and the library.  WZQZ published the budget last week HERE.

At a budget meeting last Friday, the commissioner said that he plans to fully fund the pay increases that have been requested by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.  The sheriff’s department budget is historically the largest expenditure on the county’s budget and this year is no exception.  The commissioner’s budget calls for $2.3 million for the sheriff’s office and just over $2 million for the jail – which is a separate line item on the county’s budget.

Tomorrow’s meeting is open to the public and will be held at the Chattooga County Commissioner’s Office at 10102 Commerce Street in Summerville.
