Mr. William Luther Short, age 86, of Lyerly, GA passed away on Monday, June 13, 20011 at

Oakview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Short was born June 23, 1924 in Cherokee County, AL, the son of the late William Walter

and Hassie Covington Short. He was retired from Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Mill. Other than

his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Bullard, and a brother, L. C. Short.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Melba Short, Lyerly, GA; special niece, Kathleen Finney;

and several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11: a. m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home

Chapel with Rev. John Mann officiating. Burial will follow in Lyerly Cemetery. Active

pallbearers will be Mike Short, Will Short, Tom Bullard, Douglas Bullard, Blake Bullard,

and Ken Harrelson. Honorary pallbearers will be Nieces and Nephews, Robert Watwood, Ikey

Henderson, and the Staff of F Hall, Oakview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Short will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from

6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011.
