Mr. Herbert Lee Hale, age 73, of Summerville, GA died Friday, July 22, 2011 at Erlanger

Medical Center.

Mr. Hale was born August 8, 1937 in Summerville, GA, the son of the late DF "Deed" and Lillie

Viola Gaines Hale. He was a member of the South Summerville Baptist Church. Mr. Hale

was a veteran of the United States Navy. Other than his parents, he was preceded in

death by a brother, Murrell G. Hale.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Hale; son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Susan

Hale, Chattanooga, TN; step-son and wife, Derek and April Adams, Summerville, GA;

step-daughter and husband, Wanda and Dale Levan, Rome, GA; grandchildren, Christy

Hale, Brian and Robin Hale, Amanda Hale; Dylan Adams, Levi Adams, Joseph and Anna

Levan; great grandchildren; Jake Hale and Tyde Hale.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p. m. Sunday, July 24, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home

Chapel with Rev. David Craven, Rev. Jimmy Bryant, and Dr. Dale Levan officiating. Burial

will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Brian Hale, Charles

McClain, John Sterner, Phil McGuire, Doyle Bethune, and Arnold Kilgo. Honorary pallbearers

will be all members of Path Way Sunday School Class.

Mr. Hale will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from

2:00 p. m. until the service hour on Sunday. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials

be made to the South Summerville Baptist Church Building Fund.
