A woman was arrested after a traffic stop in the Gore area over the past weekend.

During a routine patrol last Saturday, a Chattooga County Deputy noticed a green colored vehicle pass by with no tag light pulled the vehicle over at Silver Hill Road. The driver, identified as Andrea Hightower, handed the deputy her drivers license but stated that she had recently got a ticket because of her license but that she had taken care of it. Hightower was asked if the drivers license was suspended, to which she said she did not know.

When the deputy ran the license it was learned that they were suspended so he informed Hightower of this information. The deputy then asked Hightower to step out of the vehicle and she said “No, I’m going to make a phone call”. She was then asked again to step out of the vehicle and she said “I was going to make a  call”. Hightower finally complied and exited her vehicle while still trying to make her phone call.

Hightower was then placed under arrest and charged with traffic offenses and driving with a suspended license.
