Week 9 of the 2024 high school football season kicks off tonight and just like last week, one local team has a bye week this week while the other has a pivotal region game.  The Chattooga Indians will go on the road tonight to Trenton to take on the Dade County Wolverines in a region 7-A elimination game.  Both Chattooga and Dade County are tied for fourth place in the region and the winner of tonight’s game will clinch the 4th and final playoff spot in the region.  Chattooga will be looking to break a 3 game losing streak after having a bye week last week.  Dade County is fresh off a 44-28 road win at Coosa last week.  Just like Chattooga, Dade County has lost region games to Fannin County, Christian Heritage and Gordon Lee.  Dade County defeated Armuchee earlier this season 21-7.  Dade County is 3-5 overall on the season with a non-region win over Lafayette and non-region losses to Ringgold and Trion.

The Trion Bulldogs have a bye week this week to rest up before their region showdown on the road next week with Bowdon.

The Chattooga vs Dade County game will be live video streamed on the WZQZ Facebook page and will be broadcast live on 99.1 FM and AM 1180.  Join Chris “Bubba” Wilson and Steiner Davis along with cameraman Mason Gilreath as they will provide coverage tonight live from Trenton.  The pregame show will being at around 7:15 pm and kickoff will follow at 7:30 pm.
