Drivers in Armuchee should plan for a traffic change starting Monday as Floyd Springs Road is scheduled to close for construction.

Floyd County Public Works announced that Floyd Springs Road will be closed at 2801 Floyd Springs Road beginning Monday, December 8, 2025, at 8 a.m. so crews can replace a cross drain. Officials say detours will be posted to route traffic around the closure, which is expected to last about a week.

During the closure, motorists will be detoured using Salley Davis Road, Rosedale Road, and New Rosedale Road (GA 156). Public Works anticipates the work on Floyd Springs Road will be completed by December 11, but notices will be sent if the closure extends beyond the expected timeframe.

Officials said signs are already in place to warn drivers about the upcoming road work.

In a separate project also affecting Armuchee, Lowery Road is also scheduled to close on December 8, 2025, for another cross drain replacement.
