Help is on the way for families across Chattooga County today, Thursday, December 11, as There’s Hope for the Hungry arrives at Central Avenue Baptist Church in Trion for a free grocery giveaway.

The outreach’s vision is to create an environment where churches and volunteers are evangelizing and caring for their community, with a future goal of expanding beyond North Georgia to impact communities across the Southeast.

Everyone is welcome to come by from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to receive groceries. No ID is required, but you must be present to receive food. In addition to the grocery giveaway, The Clothes Closet will also be available today from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

There’s Hope for the Hungry says its 2025 impact has already been significant, reporting 17,776 families fed, 53,040 people served, including 14,676 children and 10,601 senior adults, with 363,266 pounds of food distributed.

The giveaway is being held at Central Avenue Baptist Church, 14074 Highway 27, Trion, GA (behind Dixie Subs).
