A 48-year-old man, Devlin E. Crider, was arrested in Chattooga County following a reported incident involving an alleged impaired driver on Mitchell Circle.

According to an incident report, deputies were dispatched to a residence after receiving a call about a possible driver under the influence in a driveway. The report states Crider had reportedly struck a pole on the property. When authorities made contact, the report notes Crider showed signs of impairment, including the odor of alcohol and slurred speech, and allegedly admitted he had drank “too much.”

Crider reportedly refused standardized field sobriety testing, but later agreed to a blood draw for state testing under implied consent procedures, according to the report. Investigators also noted alcohol containers inside the vehicle.

Crider was taken into custody and is charged with DUI (alcohol) along with traffic-related offenses. The report also indicates Crider was arrested in connection with an active warrant and was accused of driving on a suspended license.
