A 34-year-old man was arrested following an early morning traffic stop in Chattooga County after a deputy reported finding suspected marijuana inside his vehicle.
According to the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office incident report, Deputy Adam Dawson was parked on Highway 27 at approximately 4:04 a.m. on July 2 when he observed a gray Honda Accord traveling without functioning taillights. After stopping the vehicle, the deputy reported detecting a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside.
The driver was identified as Patrick Lamar Davis, 34. According to the report, deputies searched the vehicle and found a mason jar containing two bags of suspected marijuana beneath the driver’s seat, along with a suspected marijuana grinder and a THC gummy.
Investigators also determined Davis was driving with a suspended license and had an outstanding warrant from Floyd County. He was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended or revoked and possession of marijuana (less than one ounce) before being transported to the Chattooga County Jail.

The Summerville Police Department has charged an Alabama woman with driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle following a traffic stop in Summerville.
According to citations filed by the department, Nicole Renee Thacker, 23, of Cedar Bluff, Alabama, was cited after officers stopped her vehicle on June 28 on Pine Street near Highway 114. Officers allege Thacker was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol to the extent that it was less safe for her to drive. The citation also states that an alcoholic beverage in an open container was found in the center console cup holder while she was operating the vehicle. Court documents further indicate that Thacker was advised of Georgia’s implied consent law and refused the requested state chemical test.
Thacker is scheduled to appear in Summerville Municipal Court on September 15, 2026, to answer the charges.

According to citations provided to WZQZ, Antonio Francisco Tomas, 37, of Summerville, was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Failure to Maintain Lane.
The citations indicate the incident occurred on Sixth Avenue within the city limits of Summerville. The reporting officer noted that Tomas was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and was considered less safe to drive. The citation states that a breath test showed a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit.
A separate citation alleges that Tomas failed to maintain a single lane of travel and was involved in a vehicle accident while impaired.
The case is scheduled to be heard in Summerville Municipal Court at a later date.
