The Chattooga County Environmental Health Department has released its latest health inspection scores for the second half of July, with local restaurants, lodging facilities and recreational sites earning strong marks.

Three establishments received perfect scores of 100 during recent inspections. The Willow Tree Grill in Summerville earned a perfect score on its July 23 food service inspection. Coach Inn in Summerville received a 100 on its July 27 tourist accommodation inspection, while Express Inn & Suites in Trion earned a perfect 100 during its July 24 inspection.

Camp Juliette Low in Menlo also posted outstanding results, receiving a 100 for its food service inspection and another 100 for its swimming pool inspection, both conducted on July 16.

Other strong performers included AJ’s Subs N’ Sweets in Summerville, which received a 99 on its July 15 food service inspection, and James H. “Sloppy” Floyd State Park, which earned a 95 during its July 22 tourist accommodation inspection.

Health inspections are conducted by the Chattooga County Environmental Health Department to help ensure compliance with state public health regulations. Inspectors evaluate food handling practices, employee hygiene, sanitation, temperature control, facility maintenance and other health and safety standards. Inspection scores reflect conditions observed at the time of the inspection.

  • Express Inn & Suites (Trion) – 100 – Tourist Accommodation – July 24
  • The Willow Tree Grill (Summerville) – 100 – Food Service – July 23
  • James H. “Sloppy” Floyd State Park (Summerville) – 95 – Tourist Accommodation – July 22
