Mr. Lonnie Rogers, age 75, of Summerville, GA, died Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Advent Health Redmond.
Mr. Rogers was born October 14, 1950, in Jeanerette, LA, son of the late Willis James Rogers, Sr. and Emerite Pichoff Rogers. He was a member of Sonrise Church, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Schneider Trucking. He was also retired from the Chattooga County School System where he worked as a bus driver.
Lonnie was a man of strong Christian faith who loved the Lord and enjoyed sharing that love with everyone around him. He had a kind and loving heart and always found joy in the simple things in life. One of his favorite ways to spend his time was fishing, but what he cherished most was being surrounded by the people he loved.
Lonnie especially treasured the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. He loved making memories with them, laughing with them, and simply enjoying having them close. His family meant the world to him, and his love for them could be seen in everything he did.
Lonnie leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, love, family, and cherished memories. He will be deeply missed, but his love and the memories he created with his family will live on in their hearts forever.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jim Rogers and Bill Rogers.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Rogers; daughters, Lesa (Carl) Davenport, Kristian (Ray) Godfrey, Candi (Germaine) Cook, and Leslie (Michael) Cook-Bevels; brother, Danny (Norma) Rogers; sisters-in-law, Brenda Rogers and Peggy Rogers; grandchildren, Christopher (Lindsay) Godfrey, Devin Davenport, Katie (Amber) Bentley, Zane Armond, Zoey (Garrett) Cook, Ty Godfrey, Zander (Tabitha) Cook, Zayden Cook, Braxson Cook-Bevels, Brynlee Cook-Bevels, and Briley Cook-Bevels; and great-grandchildren, Heaven Godfrey, Zaleigh Nickons, Malasia Tice, Remi Godfrey, Magnolia Heaps, and Piper Godfrey.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 29, 2026, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Baird and Rev. Tyler Chastain officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Godfrey, Devin Davenport, Zane Armond, Ty Godfrey, Zander Cook, Zayden Cook, and Braxson Cook-Bevels.
Mr. Rogers will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Saturday.
