According to a Summerville Police Department incident report, an officer was dispatched to the library at 360 Farrar Drive at approximately 7:59 PM on Saturday, August 29.

Police said Tyler Willingham told the responding officer that he and his girlfriend, Cynthia Hogue, had gotten into a verbal argument because she was accusing him of cheating and hugging another girl.

According to the report, Willingham said the argument became physical when Hogue allegedly kicked him in the chin, struck him open-handed on the right side of his face and then struck him again in the back of the head.

The report states that Willingham left the scene and walked to the fair.

Willingham later complained that his head was hurting, and EMS was called. Police reported observing visible redness on the right side of his face where he said he had been struck. He was transported to Chattooga ER.

Police later located Cynthia Hogue on Highland Avenue, where she was taken into custody and transported to the Chattooga County Jail.
