Summerville Mini Renaissance Festival Canceled Due to Inclement Weather; Indoor Renaissance Celebration Planned

Due to the forecast of strong wind gusts and the potential for flash flooding, the Summerville Mini Renaissance Festival has been canceled for the safety of festival participants, vendors, performers, and visitors.

However, the Renaissance spirit will continue inside the Summerville Depot with a special day of live Renaissance performances, sponsored by United Community Bank, from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM.

Guests are invited to step inside the historic depot and enjoy a variety of Renaissance-themed entertainment, including performances by Peter D Piper, Faye Fairy Willowwhisper, Davock Walkere, The Wayfaring Prophets, Merry Belly Dancers, Dalton Belly Dancers, Appalacian Sword Club and Obsiden the Dragon.

Adding to the festivities, the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum Steam Engine will arrive at approximately 1:00 PM with passengers, providing an exciting addition to the day’s entertainment.

Traditional Renaissance fare will also be available inside the depot, including turkey legs, fried pies, and other food and beverages, allowing visitors to enjoy a bite to eat while watching the performances.

While we are disappointed that weather conditions prevent us from holding the festival as originally planned, we invite everyone to come inside the Summerville Depot and help us keep the Renaissance spirit alive!

Renaissance may look a little different this year—but the merriment continues!
