Mrs. Syble Lucille Hollingsworth Ward, age 79 of Trion, Georgia, passed away Friday, September 14, 2012 at Heritage Healthcare in Lafayette, GA.

Mrs. Ward was born in Chattooga County, Georgia on March 10, 1933, daughter of the late Clyde Hollingsworth and Gussie Francis Woody Hollingsworth. She was of the Baptist Faith and prior to retirement, was employed with Sears and Roebuck. Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by sisters, Etta Mae Williams, Irene Moseley, Betty Brown and Gertrude Brown; and 2 brothers, Johnny Hollingsworth and Bobby Hollingsworth.

Mrs. Ward is survived by her husband, Clarence Ward; daughter and son-in-law, Frances Diane and Randy Blackmon; brothers, GW “Dub” Hollingsworth and Billy Hollingsworth; sisters, Polly Ragan and Ann Hampton; 2 grandchildren, Adam Jenkins and Lynn Pickle; 2 great grandchildren, Cody Mathis and Haley Pickle; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the West Hill Cemetery with Rev. Leon Woody officiating. Those desiring to attend the services are asked to meet at West Hill Cemetery on Tuesday at 1:45 P.M.

The family respectfully asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
