Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Hamby Thomas, age 85, of Summerville, GA, Passed away Saturday November 17, 2012, from injuries received in an automobile accident. Mrs. Thomas was born August 28, 1927, in Summerville, GA, the daughter of Hugh and Margaret Wofford Hamby. She was retired from Best Mfg, a member of the Trion United Methodist Church, the Christian Fellowship Sunday School Class, the United Methodist Women, the Triple LLL Club, and preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Levi Thomas, sisters, Peg Tate Hogg, and Nelle Adamson.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Doug Wilson, grandchildren, Liz and Stefan Hoglund, Darren Mitchell, Joan and Michael Graham, Amber Browning, Douglas Wilson, great-grandchildren, Claire Lindsey, Murphy Browning, Sydnie Hoglund, Wil and Tristan Graham, Addison Wilson, sisters, Hugh Belle Tucker, Joyce Hogg, Jane Stokes, brothers, Edwin Hamby, Jerry Hamby, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday November 19, 2012, from the Trion United Methodist Church with Rev. David Autry, Rev. Art Graves, Rev. Jennifer Andone, with interment in the Garrett Cemetery. Active pallbearers, Mark Hogg, Kelly Stokes, Lee Hamby, Lyn Hamby, Al Adamson, Chase Hegwood.
Mrs. Thomas will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Sunday November 18, 2012. from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Trion United Methodist Church or the Garrett Cemetery Fund.
