Mrs. Mary Ann Davenport, age 77 of Flintstone, Ga, formerly of Trion, Ga, passed

away Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the residence of a daughter. Mrs. Davenport was

born June 23, 1935 in Trion, Ga. Mrs. Davenport was retired from Mount Vernon

Mills and was a member of the Lafayette Church of God. She was a very hard

worker, loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She was also a poet;

and she touched many with the way she lived.

   Mrs. Davenport was preceded in death by her husband, Willam Calvin

Davenport; daughter, Sheila Collette; father and mother, James A. Russell and

Gertrude Oralee Maples Russell; sister, Shirley Meford; and brother, Curtis Russell.

   Mrs. Davenport is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Trina and Jack Harvey of

Flintstone, Ga; grandson, Jody Collette of Trion, Ga; granddaughter, Kirby Miles of

Flintstone, Ga; brother and sister-in-law, James and Catherine Russell of Trion, Ga;

very special friends, Mel and Kimberly Kocher of Ringgold, Ga; several nieces and

nephews.

   Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the

chapel of Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Singletary, Rev. Gary Howell

officiating. Rev. Jack Harvey will do the committal at the graveside. Interment will be

in the Greenhills Memory Gardens.

   Visitation for Mrs. Mary Ann Davenport will be Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the

Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m..

Pallbearers will be Tuffy Russell, Brad Russell, Jamie Russell, Jody Collette, Billy

Bryant, and Mel Kocher. Honorary pallbearers will be the "F" Hall Staff of Oakview

Nursing Home and members of the Lafayette Church of God.

   Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
