Mr. Clifford Leon Gardner, age 79, of Lyerly, GA died Monday April 10, 2013
at Floyd Medical Center.
Mr. Gardner was born February 22, 1934 in Jamestown, AL, the son of the
late William Arthur Gardner and Lena Mae Ray Gardner. He was owner of
G & G Trucking. Mr. Gardner was a member of the Church of Christ. He was
veteran of the United States Army, having served in the 101th Airborne. Other
than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Gardner.
Survivors include his wife, Effie Gardner; son, Clifford L. Gardner, JR;
daughters and son-in-law, Angie and Billy Stallings, and Helen Teague;
brother and sister-in-law, Wilburn and Mary Nell Gardner; sisters, Nell Spear,
Joyce Barnes, and Peggy Clark; 7 Grandchildren; and 16 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Mason
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dewayne Teague officiating. Entombment
will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be William
Gardner, Ken Teague, Michael Teague, Lance Stallings, Isiah Holder, and
Anthony Gardner. Honorary pallbearers will be Employees of Harbin Dialysis
Clinic, and special friends, Margie Love, and Larry and Marie Dendy.
Mr. Gardner will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive
friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Friday, April 12, 2013.
