Mr. Horace David Hunter, age 91, of Summerville, GA died Monday, August 19, 2013 2013 at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

 

Mr. Hunter was born July 10, 1922 in Summerville, GA the son of the late Sam

Hunter and Azor Mason Hunter.  He was retired from Summerville Cotton Mill.

Mr. Hunter was a member of Pennville Church of Christ.  Other than his parents,

he was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Hix Hunter; second wife, Wilma

Lively Hunter; son, David Hunter; step-son, Jackie Lively; sisters, Annie Mae Ingram,

Lucille Rich, Bessie Butler, Margaret Hunter, Geneva Blackmon, Roberta Fowler and Ruby Ledford; brothers, Fred Hunter, J. D. Hunter, Sam W. Hunter, Carl Hunter, and Oscar Hunter.

 

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Brenda Hunter, Larry and

Diane Hunter; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Sid Henderson; step-daughters and husbands, Melody and Dennis Howard, Betty Faye and Steve Nelson; step-daughter, Marie Houge; sisters, Roxie Jane King, and Mildred Edgworth; 7 Grandchildren; and 15 Great Grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Mason Funeral

Home Chapel, with Min. Robbie Eversole and Rev. Terry Hampton officiating. Burial

will follow in Summerville Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Adam Hampton, Don

Hennon, Eddie Henderson, Marty Hampton, Terry Hampton, Brandon Hampton,

Donnie Hicks, and Sammi Hampton.  Honorary pallbearers will be Conner Henderson,

Timothy Edgworth, Neal Edgworth, and the Staff and Nurses at Oakview Nursing

and Rehabilitation Center.

 

Mr. Hunter will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends

from 12:00 noon until the service hour on Tuesday, August 20, 2013.
