Mrs. Mary Ruth Henley, age 87, of Rome, GA, passed away Saturday November 2, 2013, in Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Henley was born September 13, 1926, in Rome, GA, daughter of the late Harlan L. and Amilea O. Tudor Evans. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a supervisor with Dowling, and was a Past Matron with the Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Henley, step-mother, Eva Evans; and a brother, Bobby A. Evans.
Mrs. Henley is survived by her brother, Homer L. Evans; sisters, Frances Van Horn, Glenis Miller, Sue Bearden, JoAnn Anderson, and Faye Nelle Byrd; sisters-in-law, Ann Henley and Frances Evans; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews; adopted family, Tom, Gail, Adrian, Abby, and Jeff Brown from Bloomington, IN.
Funeral services for Mrs. Henley will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 6, 2013, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Pierce, Tom Byrd, Tommy Byrd, Calvin Byrd, Josh Hurley, and Tom Browne.
Mrs. Henley will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour on Wednesday.
