Mrs. Ila Jo Culpepper, age 81, of Trion, GA, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Floyd Medical Center.
Mrs. Culpepper was born June 15, 1932, in Whiton, AL, daughter of the late Alison and Berma Rains Chandler. She was a homemaker and a member of the Spring Creek Baptist Church where she loved to sing in the choir. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Dell Culpepper; and 4 brothers.
Mrs. Culpepper is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rickey and Vicki Culpepper; daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie Jo and Robert “Spooky” Dawson, Tammy and Jack Owings; a brother, Hoyt Chandler; sisters, Gail Wilborn, Melba Wyatt, Mozelle Penley, Lynette Parrott; grandchildren, Allison Dawson Eubanks, Shelby Warren, Shon Culpepper, Hillary Owings Carpenter, Julia Owings Park; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Culpepper will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, February 28, 2014, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Bryant and Rev. Jimmy Wilborn officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Isaiah Culpepper, Hunter Warren, Shon Culpepper, Jay Wilborn, Jason Park, Justin Carpenter, Matt Eubanks, Lee Tanner, Bob Warren, and Chase Wilborn. Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff and Employee’s of the Suites at Oakview.
Mrs. Culpepper will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour on Friday.
