Mr. William “Pete” Cooper, age 83, of Lyerly, GA, died Friday, February 20, 2015, at his residence.
 
Mr. Cooper was born February 12, 1932, in Subligna, GA, son of the late Floyd and Jessie Mae Elsberry Cooper.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Textile Mechanical Service.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Cooper.
 
Mr. Cooper is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Cooper; children, Randy and Tammy Cooper, Rita Brooks and Peter Sussman, Beverly Simpson, Tina Reynolds, Cindy and Randy Broyles, Kim and Greg Hurley, and Kelly and Rodney Yarborough; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral services for Mr. Cooper will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, February 22, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronald Berry officiating.
 
Mr. Cooper will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Sunday.
