MRS. NELLIE B. DAVENPORT, age 89, of Yarbrough Road, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015, at her residence.  A native Chattooga Countian, She was born to the late Roy Clinton and Hattie Lemuel Veatch Allmon, on July 6, 1926.  Mrs. Davenport was retired from the sewing department of the former Best Mfg. Company of Menlo, Georgia and a member of Chelsea Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Garner Earl Davenport; sisters, Sarah Evans, Margaret Knight, Zenter McHaffey, and Fannie Mae Hunter; brothers Rube Allmon, Cecil Allmon and Deforest Allmon.

Surviving are two daughters & spouses, Jeanette and Bill Shelby and Shirley and Albert Smith, Jr.; son & spouse, Benny and Karen Davenport; seven Grandchildren, twelve Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 1st, at 2:00 P.M., EDT, from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Speers and Rev. Larry Scoggins officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers, Daniel Smith, Corey Smith, Mark Davenport, Michael Smith, David Jackson, Jody Smith.  The Family will receive friends Monday from 6 until 8, EDT, at the Funeral Home.
