MR. JAY WILLIAM SHORE, age 76, of Trion, Georgia passed away Thursday evening, January 21, 2016, in a Rome hospital.  A native of New York, New York, He was born to the late Hyman and Melba Jacobs Shore on April 26, 1939.  Mr. Shore was a member of the Highway 27 South Church of Christ, LaFayette, Georgia and was retired from the U. S. Navy after 20 years of service, the last four years a Submariner on the USS Von Steisben.  He was preceded in death by a grandson, the late Jonathan Shore.

Surviving are His wife, Ellie Shore; daughter, Sarah Shore of Summerville; sons, John Bohannon of Atlanta and Casey Bohannon of Grand Rapids,MI, Davis Bohannon of Trion; brother, Murray Shore of New York;  grandchildren, Mary Shore, Jeyda Bohannon, Alex Bohannon, Tylan Bohannon, Shawn Bohanon and Justin Bohannon; several Nieces and Nephews also survive. 

 

Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 23rd, at 4:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Ministers Daniel Curtis and Mark Hogan officiating, interment in Chattanooga National Cemetery.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Men of the Highway 27 South Church of Christ.  The Family will receive friends Saturday at the Funeral Home from 2 P. M. until the hour of service.  The Family request no flowers and suggest contributions to the Jonathan Shore, Music Scholarship Fund @ United Community Bank.
