Additional information has been released, regarding the discovery of a body on Wednesday morning in Walker County. The body, which authorities state is that of a 40 year old Dalton man, was found in Keown Falls, off of Pocket Road in Villanow.

They are reportedly investigating the death as an apparent suicide.

The man had been reported missing Tuesday, March 8th, and investigators began searching for him the following Sunday; the body was finally found Wednesday at around 10:30am, in a wooded area, about a quarter-of-a-mile from the Chattahoochee National Forest welcome sign; little information is being released, however officials say no weapon was used nor did the man jump to his death.

They also said he did not appear to have been camping as no gear was found.

Alcoholic beverages were located at the scene.

The man's vehicle was actually found last Sunday.

It's unknown how long the man had been dead prior to the body being discovered.
