One man was fatally injured in a single-vehicle wreck in Chattooga County Monday night around 7:30.

According to Sheriff Mark Schrader, the man has been identified as 26 year old Cody Payton Johnson of a Menlo address.

Early reports from the Georgia State Patrol indicated that Johnson lost control of his vehicle – a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer, while negotiating a curve as he was traveling eastbound on Oak Hill Road.

The vehicle left the roadway off the south shoulder and struck an embankment overturning and finally coming to rest on its right side.

Johnson was ejected from the vehicle.

It’s still unclear what led to the accident occurring.
