Voters will return to the polls on December 6th for the runoff election between incumbent Democrat U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock and his Republican challenger Herschel Walker.  WZQZ News spoke with Chattooga County Registrar Sheena Weaver about all the details for Chattooga County voters concerning the runoff election:

Advance Voting for the runoff is November 28 – December 2. There is no Saturday voting for this election. The hours are 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Advance Voting will take place in the Registrars Office located at 10017 Commerce Street in Summerville.

The registration deadline was November 7. We have not begun to process the applications received between October 11 and November 7 (the General Election’s Registration Deadline and the Runoff’s Deadline) because credit for voting has not been applied yet. The applications will all be processed prior to the start of Advance Voting.
On December 6, the polls will be open from 7 am to 7 pm at all 7 of our voting locations (Gore Fire Department, Ebeneezer Baptist Church, Lyerly Fire Department, Former Menlo City Hall, Subligna Baptist Church, Chattooga County Civic Center, and the Trion Recreation Department). There will not be any voting in the Registrars Office on Election Day.
Absentee by Mail ballots will go out to those who have already requested one as soon as we have them available. Absentee by Mail ballots must be mailed. Voters cannot pick them up in our office. We will get them mailed out as soon as we are able, but they must be mailed. The last day someone may submit an application for an Absentee by Mail ballot is November 28.  The ballot must be returned to the Registrars Office by 7 pm on December 6. As of right now, we have 171 applications for absentee ballots for the Runoff.
