AdventHealth’s cancer care teams in Northwest Georgia are promoting the “Light Your Porch Pink” movement throughout October to raise awareness of breast cancer, which impacts one in eight women.

Residents can join by replacing their porch light bulbs with pink ones to create a pink glow. Pink light bulbs can be picked up at several Advent Health locations in Northwest Georgia. Participants are encouraged to share photos of their pink porches on social media with the #PinkPorchGA hashtag to show support for breast cancer awareness. Last year, many individuals in the community participated by lighting up their porches in pink.

Josefer Montes, AdventHealth Georgia’s executive director of marketing and brand, expressed hope that this year’s initiative will inspire more people to prioritize regular cancer screenings, potentially saving lives. By showcasing pink porches, friends and family members can encourage their loved ones to schedule screenings and stay vigilant about their health.
