AdventHealth Georgia’s cancer care teams are once again calling on residents across Northwest Georgia to illuminate their homes in a vibrant display of support this October, challenging the community to “Light Your Porch Pink” for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The “Light Your Porch Pink” movement aims to shine a crucial light on breast cancer, a disease that affects one in eight women and is highly treatable when detected in its early stages. Community members are invited to participate by simply replacing their standard front porch light bulb with a pink one, creating a powerful, glowing symbol of awareness each evening.

Beyond the visual campaign, AdventHealth is strongly encouraging women to prioritize their health by scheduling their annual mammogram. “Mammograms truly save lives,” stated an AdventHealth representative. To make screening as accessible as possible, AdventHealth locations in Rome, Calhoun, and Chatsworth offer convenient 3D mammograms that can be completed in just 30 minutes.

To facilitate widespread participation, AdventHealth Georgia will distribute thousands of free pink light bulbs across Floyd, Gordon, and Murray counties, starting September 15, 2025. Residents can pick up their complimentary bulbs while supplies last at the following locations:

AdventHealth Gordon:
East Entrance Lobby, 1035 Red Bud Road, Calhoun, GA 30701
North Entrance Lobby, 1035 Red Bud Road, Calhoun, GA 30701
Edna Owens Breast Center, 1035 Red Bud Road, Calhoun, GA 30701
AdventHealth Murray:

AdventHealth Redmond:
Main Entrance Lobby, 501 Redmond Road, Rome, GA 30165
Women’s Center, 501 Redmond Road, Rome, GA 30165

By lighting up their homes, community members can join AdventHealth in fostering a visible reminder of the importance of early detection and supporting those impacted by breast cancer.
