AdventHealth Medical Group has welcomed Dr. Zishan Hashmi, a board-certified interventional pain management physician, to AdventHealth Medical Group Pain Medicine at Rome.

Dr. Hashmi began seeing patients on August 31 and will provide care for adults and geriatric patients dealing with chronic pain and related conditions.

His approach combines minimally invasive procedures, physical therapy and non-addictive treatment options to create individualized treatment plans aimed at improving function and quality of life.

Dr. Hashmi is board-certified in both Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology and is trained in a number of interventional pain management techniques, including epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation and minimally invasive spine procedures. He also treats sacroiliac joint disorders and performs fusion procedures.

Dr. Hashmi earned his medical degree from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He completed his anesthesiology residency at the University at Buffalo and later completed a fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine through Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Hashmi said chronic pain can affect nearly every aspect of a person’s life, and his goal is to work with patients to identify the source of their pain and develop treatment plans that help them regain function and return to activities that matter most to them.

Dr. Hashmi will see patients at AdventHealth Medical Group Pain Medicine at Rome, 100 John Maddox Drive NW, Suite 100, in Rome.
