The American Heart Association presents Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke awards for proven dedication to best practices and life-saving care
AdventHealth Redmond has received American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke Gold Plus award for its commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, ultimately leading to more lives saved and reduced disability.
Every 40 seconds, someone in the U.S. has a stroke or heart attack. Heart disease and stroke are the No. 1 and No. 5 causes of death in the United States, respectively. Studies show patients can recover better when providers consistently follow treatment guidelines.
Get With The Guidelines puts the expertise of the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association to work for hospitals nationwide, helping ensure patient care is aligned with the latest research- and evidence-based guidelines. Get With The Guidelines – Stroke is an in-hospital program for improving stroke care by promoting consistent adherence to these guidelines, which can minimize the long-term effects of a stroke and even prevent death.
“AdventHealth Redmond has streamlined processes to ensure timely and proper care for the acute emergency of stroke,” said Issac Sendros, president and CEO of AdventHealth Redmond. “Our team has cut stroke treatment time in half compared to national guidelines, which ultimately saves lives and prevents disability for our patients each day.”
This year, AdventHealth Redmond received the following achievement award
